A Look Back at 2023 and Forward to 2024

Uncategorized

As we close out 2023, we take a look back at the conversations we had during our MicroAge Talks Technology webinars. Cybersecurity remained a big part of our conversations because mitigating risk continues to be top of mind for our clients, big and small.

Of course, cybersecurity awareness is an important part of a good cybersecurity strategy and our Teach Your Team to Catch a Phish webinars that we present twice a year were again popular 2023. If you haven’t joined us in the past, you can test your cybersecurity skills with our Phish or Legit game. We also have people who have joined the sessions in the past and join us again and again plus it never hurts to get a refresher when it comes to cybersecurity awareness. These by no means replace structured cybersecurity awareness programs. They do remind people to be vigilant.

We also looked at a topic that we are all experiencing, the talent shortage. This challenge is everywhere and affects all roles, markets, and industries. We look at it from an IT perspective because that’s what we know and offer some advice on how to navigate the shortage.

And then there was Artificial Intelligence (AI). A topic that started permeating the airwaves late last year and has become an inescapable part of conversations in many organizations. Some will say that AI has been around for a long time but let’s face it, for most of us, it wasn’t quite something we could understand. However, with the rapid advancements in machine learning (ML), Generative AI (GenAI), and large language models (LLM) made it so we can now see much more clearly what AI can mean to us. Our conversation on Microsoft 365 Copilot gave our audience a look at what life can look like with an AI assistant. There is a lot more to learn but it made things concrete.

If you are one of the close to 1,000 people who joined us for our MicroAge Talks Technology conversations, thank you and we appreciate the time you took out of your busy schedules to join us.

If you missed our 2023 conversations, you can view the recordings on our YouTube channel

What’s in store for 2024?

Although we don’t have a crystal ball, we are confident that cybersecurity (risk management and resilience), AI (preparing and implementing) and privacy (governance and compliance) will be part of the conversations in 2024. We are also confident that there will be surprises along the way.

So, stay tuned and join us for our 2024 MicroAge Talks Technology conversations!

If you have any IT questions, please contact us! We would be happy to hear from you.
